“This Pride Month, we recognize the valuable contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals across America, and we reaffirm our commitment to standing in solidarity with LGBTQ+ Americans in their ongoing struggle against discrimination and injustice.
“The LGBTQ+ community in America has achieved remarkable progress since Stonewall… [There are] members of the LGBTQ+ community now serve in nearly every level of public office — in city halls and State capitals, Governors’ mansions and the halls of the Congress, and throughout my Administration.
“While I am proud of the progress my Administration has made in advancing protections for the LGBTQ+ community, I will not rest until full equality for LGBTQ+ Americans is finally achieved and codified into law.”

As we celebrate our progress toward equality for LGBTQ+ Americans, we must recommit to the hard work ahead.
We must end the filibuster, pass the Equality Act, and fight back against anti-LGBTQ+ legislation in state houses and in Congress. #pride

To all in the LGBTQ+ community who cannot openly celebrate or who face hatred for living as yourselves: We love and value you in our society and in our democracy.
Your voice is needed now more than ever — and I will fight to give you the space to make it heard. #loveislove 2/2

Whoever you are, whoever you love, know that you are deserving, valued, and worthy.

Here’s what celebrities and community figures are saying:
I'll also gladly use the first day of #Pride as a reminder that this is not a nebulous celebration of love and positivity. This is the commemoration of an uprising against police brutality marked in June because that's when The Stonewall Riots took place.
