Republicans are flailing online trying to find someone to blame for Donald Trump’s conviction on 34 criminal counts – related to his scheme to hide payments to an adult actress to keep her quiet about their sexual relationship – who is not Trump himself.
And Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Alex Jones placed the blame on an unlikely target: drag queens.

Jones posted a video to social media labeled “false flag alert” after Trump’s conviction was announced. In the video, he claimed that Judge Juan Merchan told jurors to convict Trump even if they think he’s innocent (this never happened) and said that “they” wanted Trump convicted even though “it will be overturned.”

Why did this mysterious “they” want Trump convicted so badly? Jones connected the dots.
“They want the headline in this campaign that he is a convicted felon because they believe that’ll backfire on President Trump,” Jones said, saying that the conviction will actually “backfire on the deep state and the globalists.”
“The problem is, if you look at their next playbook, and the next card in their playbook, their next move, it will be false flag terror attacks blamed on Trump supporters angry about the verdict,” Jones said, appearing to already lay the groundwork for excusing Trump supporters future crimes.
“The Deep State believes they own this nation,” Jones continued. “They believe they own you.”
He then listed issues that the “Deep State” supports so much that they created his affair with Stormy Daniels, as well as the falsified business records hiding his hush money payments: “They wanna cut off our energy, they wanna put the carbon taxes in, they wanna dissolve our borders, they want drag queen pedophile time, and President Trump is opposing every one of their agendas.”
Rep. Greene, a sitting member of Congress, shared this unhinged rant and wrote: “Listen to Alex.”
People mocked her in the responses, citing, among other things, Jones’ past lies about how school shootings are fake and that the parents grieving their children were actors.
