Unhinged GOP candidate calls Joe Biden “weak & gay” as she begs Donald Trump to endorse her

Republican Missouri secretary of state candidate Valentina Gomez called the Biden administration “weak and gay” in a fairly explicit bid to get Donald Trump’s endorsement in a crowded GOP primary.

Gomez has been using “Don’t be weak and gay” as a campaign slogan for months now, but she got online attention earlier this week when a video of her running in a Kevlar vest went viral.

“In America, you can be anything you want. So don’t be weak and gay. Stay f**king hard,” she said in the video.

Gomez told Sinclair Broadcast Group’s National Desk (TND) that Trump is being targeted with an “election interference case,” a common defense of the former president’s legal woes on the right. She also took the chance to call the current administration “weak and gay.”

“President Trump and I are leading the charge to take our country back from the weak and gay Biden-Harris administration that has destroyed our nation,” she said. “I look forward to accepting [Trump’s] endorsement so I can ensure a free and fair election to the people of Missouri, where dead people and illegals will never be voting.”

“All of these cases against President Trump are baseless, and if he is facing jail time for defending our freedoms and constitution, I am ready to speak the truth and defend him from this unconstitutional gag order from a compromised judge in the biggest election interference case in history,” Gomez continued.

Meanwhile, Democrats in her state called her out for her homophobic rhetoric.

“To all LGBTQIA Missourians, your existence should not be used as a political football,” Missouri state House Democratic leader Crystal Quade posted to X. “This candidate cosplaying in a kevlar vest is bullshit. A stunt campaign built on bigotry is an embarrassment. You’re loved & belong in Missouri & I won’t stop until our laws reflect that.”

“So refreshing to see a female GOP candidate who never served in the military doing the whole veteran cosplay, stolen valor, bigotry as a substitute for strength routine as well as any man,” said former Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander (D).

Yesterday, Gomez responded to the criticism with a combative video posted to social media.

“What happened to ‘Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me’?” she said as she appeared angry and bothered by other people’s words of criticism. “We used to be strong, America. Now there’s a bunch of pu**ies crying in politics and on social media.”

She then claimed that Trump was better at diplomacy than Biden and therefore would be better at ensuring global peace. “I really miss those mean tweets right about now,” she said, a reference to Trump’s infamous rants on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

“President Trump, I have your back,” she concluded. Trump is facing prosecution at the federal and state level in several jurisdictions, none of which will be affected by the office of the Missouri secretary of state.

Gomez made headlines earlier this year when she posted a video to social media where she burned LGBTQ+ books.

“This is what I will do to the grooming books when I become secretary of state,” Gomez declared at the time. “These books are from a Missouri public library. They will burn.”

Her primary election is scheduled for August 6. There are currently eight candidates in that primary election, according to Ballotpedia.

An earlier version of this article misidentified the office Gomez is running for. We regret the error.
