Valentina Gomez, who’s running to be the next Missouri secretary of state, says that some of the most beloved people in her state – the Kansas City Chiefs, who just won the Super Bowl – are on her side in her war against the “weak and gay agenda.”
“The Kansas City Chiefs are joining me in the fight against the weak and gay agenda,” she declared in a recent video. “They are the only team in America that has had the guts to not comply with the sexualization, grooming, and indoctrination of our children.”

In a separate post on X, she explained a bit about what her cryptic message meant. She said that the Chiefs is the only team “that hasn’t posted anything about ‘pride’ month.” The team’s social media accounts have been focused on the players meeting President Joe Biden this past Friday and have not yet posted anything about Pride Month. A quick perusal of X showed that several NFL teams have posted at least something to recognize June as Pride Month.
She also mentioned Harrison Butker, a Chiefs player who gave a commencement speech where he made several anti-LGBTQ+ and sexist statements. The team, though, has not said that they support his statements.
The Chiefs have not publicly stated that they are “joining” Gomez in any sense of the word, and she even stated in her second post that she has “no connection” to the team.
Gomez has made calling people and things “weak and gay” a theme of her campaign as she tries to stand out in a crowded GOP primary field. She called the Biden administration “weak and gay” and told her followers not to be “weak and gay” in several media and social media appearances.
“In America, you can be anything you want. So don’t be weak and gay. Stay f**king hard,” she said in a video that went viral last month.
Earlier this year, she burned books by LGBTQ+ authors with a flamethrower and posted the video to social media.
“This is what I will do to the grooming books when I become secretary of state,” Gomez declared. “These books are from a Missouri public library. They will burn.”
