A video has emerged of a drunk woman assaulting a security guard at Mother Lode, a gay bar in West Hollywood.

Michael Crepezzi shared the video with WEHO Times as “a reminder that the front line crew – security, bartenders, bus drivers, police, cashiers – are all subject to wretched behavior.”

Crepezzi shot the video which was taken just before midnight on March 14 of this year.

Crepezzi says that the drunk woman was forced to leave after getting into an altercation with another patron at the bar. She was described as “drunk, messy, and hostile.”

The video, which is almost three minutes long, shows the woman repeatedly charging the security guard at the door of the bar, and him repeatedly pushing her away. A police officer then calls West Hollywood Sheriff’s deputies, while she stands directly in front of the guard and periodically punches or shoves him, continuing to assault him.

Twice, when she runs up to attack him, the security guard pushes her so that she falls to the ground. The first time, the woman gets back up and immediately goes to hit him, but the second time she stays down.

While most of the talking in the video is inaudible, at the beginning the woman says “You’re the biggest piece of sh*t.”

The end of the video cuts to her on a stretcher. The WEHO article states that the “incident ended with the woman sustaining some injuries and being taken to a nearby hospital.” WEHO also reported that for the duration of the video, two Block by Block ambassadors — members of the local neighborhood crime watch —were standing by, with one of them also on the phone calling for backup from the sheriff’s station.

Crepezzi said that once the police arrived, “She went from beast mode to sweet angel mode when six sheriff vehicles showed up with an ambulance.” She may face assault charges for her actions.

LGBTQ+ places and people in West Hollywood have seen several incidents of assault and violence in 2024. In March, Alberto Vasquez, a 53-year-old gay hairstylist, was beaten in the parking lot of Heart WeHo nightclub in West Hollywood. He had to be hospitalized for five days due to a cracked skull, and underwent brain surgery.

Likewise, David Velasquez was called gay slurs and had his head bashed into the sidewalk after an attacker pushed him off his scooter when he was going home from Pavilions supermarket in West Hollywood. Velasquez suffered from a cut lip, some head trauma, bruising, and bleeding.
