Libs of TikTok, founded by hate influencer Chaya Raichik, is under fire for celebrating a nonbinary child being put in a headlock by their grandfather.
Raichik posted an Instagram reel on her X profile on Tuesday showing a teenager crying while saying they were put in a headlock by their grandfather “all because I asked to be called they/them.” The caption of the video is “BASED GRANDPA,” with a fire emoji. Based is a slang term for acting without regard to what others think. Right-wingers often use it as a compliment.
Many people pushed back against Raichik, with users saying that she is supporting child abuse.

Celebrating children being endangered, or endangering people, is par for the course for Raichik, who was recently added to the Southern Poverty Law Center’s database of extremists. Raichik recently led a campaign that caused 53 Planet Fitness Gyms to receive bomb threats, a gym used by teens and adults.
That wasn’t the first time Libs of TikTok caused bomb threats against kids. In 2023, Raichik posted a TikTok video of a librarian at a school in Oklahoma saying joking about “just not quite finished pushing [her] woke agenda at public school.”
At the time, Oklahoma’s superintendent of public schools, Ryan Walters, was seeking to ban LGBTQ+ books but teach the Bible in public school history classes.
A district near Tulsa, Union Public Schools said they received anonymous bomb threats on on six consecutive school days one week, shortly after Libs of TikTok posted the video.
Chabot Elementary School in Oakland, California was also of the victim of a bomb threat, which lead to the school being locked down and searched for bombs after Libs of TikTok posted the school’s scheduled “Playdate Social for Black, Brown and API families,” and identified it as a “race segregated ‘playdate social’ for all students except white kids.”
The Southern Poverty Law Center summarized Raichik’s “Extremist Info” as Raichik spreading “the anti-LGBTQ+ conspiracy theory that ‘groomers’ have infiltrated every social institution with the intent of “sexualizing” children. Under the LTT [Libs of TikTok] pseudonym, Raichik originally shared content intended to humiliate and intimidate LGBTQ+ content creators.”
“She has used the platform in an anti-LGBTQ+ disinformation campaign that mobilizes right-wing extremist groups in violent attacks against LGBTQ+ people, spaces and events, as well as against doctors, hospitals, librarians, libraries, teachers and schools.”
