Vice Presidnet Kamala Harris’s campaign has released its first ad just days after President Joe Biden announced that he would not be seeking reelection this year and Democratic leadership coalesced around Harris as the presumptive nominee.

And the ad doesn’t skimp on the Pride flags.

“In this election, we each face a question: what kind of country do we want to live in?” Harris says in the ad as Beyonce’s “Freedom” plays.

“There are some people who think we should be a country of chaos, of fear, of hate,” she says as images of the GOP candidate and his running mate are shown. “But us? We choose something different. We choose freedom.”

The ad then shows scenes with Harris, including her standing next to a Black woman veteran hugging another woman, surrounded by rainbow flags. A crowd waving Progress Pride flags is then shown.

The Pride flag footage used in the ad appears to be from an appearance at the Los Angeles International Airport on June 1, 2024 as she was ending a six-day visit to Southern California. She greeted supporters at LAX on the first day of Pride Month and posted video from that day to her social media profiles.

Harris has posted video from this event to her social media profiles before. The original video showed a drag queen wishing Harris a “Happy Pride.”

Beyonce reportedly gave Harris permission to use her song “Freedom” for the purposes of her campaign earlier this week. Beyonce stopped short of endorsing Harris.
