Right-wing trolls are losing their minds over the fact that a contingent of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz‘ (D) supporters marched in a 2017 Pride parade.

Since Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris named the Minnesota governor as her vice presidential pick earlier this week, conservative media has gone into attack mode, questioning his military record, branding him as “Tampon Tim” due to a law he signed requiring Minnesota public schools to provide menstrual products to students, and, of course, blasting his long-time support for LGBTQ+ rights.

On Thursday, Libs of TikTok, the notorious social media account run by professional anti-LGBTQ+ troll Chaya Raichik, re-posted what appears to be a June 27, 2017, Facebook post from Walz featuring video of supporters of his 2017 run for Minnesota governor. The group includes several small children wearing t-shirts that spell out Walz’s name.

“Let’s be honest,” Walz’s original post reads, “these were the real stars of the Walz for Governor pride parade unit this Sunday.”

Raichik – whose account generally reposts LGBTQ+ people’s and allies’ videos while implying that they are child sex abusers – pounced on the opportunity to make it seem like an LGBTQ+ ally was doing something untoward to children, while also attempting to Waltz’s own very effective criticism of MAGA Republicans around on him.

“Very weird and creepy,” Libs of TikTok’s post reads. “Walz had children march in an LGBTQ pride parade wearing shirts spelling out his name and forming a pride rainbow.”

Of course, it takes a special kind of twisted mind to see anything inappropriate in a group of kids walking hand-in-hand in a parade surrounded by fully clothed adults and say that it is “weird” and “creepy.” Various right-wing commenters accused Waltz of being a “groomer” and a “pedophile,” with one even writing that he “deserves to be on a watchlist.”

In a ludicrous post, dubious right-wing media outlet PJ Media described the clip as showing “little kids wearing letter shirts at the sexualized LGBTQ event.”

“Both before and after becoming governor, Walz has consistently shown his dedication to radical LGBTQ ideology and child grooming,” PJ Media’s Catherine Salgado wrote, adding that his record of support for LGBTQ+ rights makes him sound like a “horrifyingly perversion-loving freak” — rather proving the VP nominee’s point about MAGA extremists being “weird.”

Conservative influencer Joe Mannarino also posted a picture of Walz at a Pride parade with his dog, who was wearing a rainbow neckerchief. He implied that LGBTQ+ people at the Pride parade engaged in bestiality with the dog.

“Tim Walz dressed his dog up for a Pride parade,” Mannarino wrote. “I won’t say the rest, but I hope that dog is okay.”
