Donald Trump’s lesbian niece blasts media for dishonestly hiding his dementia

Out clinical psychologist Mary Trump recently called her uncle Donald “unhinged and incoherent,” “bizarre,” and “untethered from reality,” saying he is “dementing” before the public’s eyes. She based her assessment on the former president’s recent rambling comments on childcare, comments that several mainstream outlets presented as more comprehensible than they actually were.

During Donald Trump’s appearance at the Economic Club of New York last week — a meeting of economists, business leaders and journalists — he was asked what specific pieces of legislation he would pass as president to make childcare affordable.

And it all has to do with mashed potatoes.

Trump’s nearly two-minute response, which has since been widely shared on social media, never answered the question.

In his rambling response, Trump said, “I would do that, and we’re sitting down, I was somebody, we had Senator Marco Rubio and my daughter Ivanka was so impactful on that issue. It’s a very important issue, but … There’s something, you have to have it in this country, you have to have it. But when you talk about those numbers compared to the kind of numbers that I’m talking about by taxing foreign nations at levels that they’re not used to, but they’ll get used to it very quickly, and it’s not going to stop them from doing business with us, but they’ll have a very substantial tax when they send product into our country. Those numbers are so much bigger than any numbers that we’re talking about, including childcare, that it’s going to take care.”

In a post to her SubStack, Mary Trump wrote that the corporate media “believe they must translate Donald’s nonsensical ramblings into a version of the English language we can all understand.”

She noted that, while reporting on the event, the Associated Press wrote that Trump had “suggest[ed] tariffs can help solve rising child care costs”; Politico wrote that he had “laid out a sweeping economic vision of lower taxes, higher tariffs, and light-touch regulation”; and The New York Times wrote that Trump had “praised tariffs.”

Several other publications made similar reports, transgender journalist Parker Molloy noted. She and journalist Aaron Rupar called this a “sane-washing” of Trump’s comments.

Weighing in, Mary Trump wrote, “That’s a huge problem because, on the one hand, they’re not really translating his words — they’re imbuing them with a meaning that is not there; on the other hand, they’re doing this without telling us they’re doing it.”

“Surely a political press corps that spent months arguing that President Biden’s age rendered him mentally unfit, wouldn’t look the other way when the Republican candidate, the oldest person to run for president in American history, is not only old but decompensating before our very eyes,” she continued. “The difference of course is that Biden is aging while Donald is dementing.”

“Donald really does seem to have worn down the corporate media’s willingness to cover him properly. It’s too bad—they’re missing a story most people would be interested in,” she added. “American democracy depends upon a thriving fourth estate to function optimally. That’s not what we have right now. Not even close.”

She then unloaded on her uncle, writing, “A former occupant of the Oval Office, a convicted felon and adjudicated rapist who attempted a coup, is desperately flailing while his campaign is failing to gain any traction. Donald is a frightened, desperate man knowing, as he does, that his continued freedom might well depend on his ability to get back into the White House so he can make the still-pending federal cases against him disappear. His increasingly fantastical pronouncements and worsening psychiatric disorders strike me as being newsworthy.”

Mary Trump will soon release her third memoir about the Trump family, entitled Who Could Ever Love You? In the book, Mary Trump describes Donald Trump’s mother as “seriously ill and psychologically unstable” and his father as “a sociopath.” As a result, Donald Trump grew up as a bully with no friends and developed a “widening cruel streak,” she writes in the book, according to The Washington Post.
